I f only I could turn back the hands of time and undo all my mistakes, actions and inactions, I will give everything to do just that. Looking back at life, sometimes I wish I knew the things I now know 2, 3, 4, 5, years back. I bet my life would have been different. But I guess that’s why God made us to grow and learn from the past to make the present and the future better. 

Back to the reason for the write up, most often we live our lives thinking so much  about what people think of us and make of our actions. We seek approval from people so much to the neglect of what we really want for ourselves.

The question then is “Who are we living for?” Life is “one”. Each of us have  one life which cannot be exchange or shared with anybody. Why then should we wait for others to approve our lives for us? (Not clear right).

I have come to accept the fact that you can’t please anybody if you can’t please yourself.  There are people who will hate you, criticize, and want you down for no reason no matter how hard you try to please them. If you allow these people they end up giving you worries which can lead to hypertension, heart attacks, eventually killing you.  Once you lose your live, they continue to live. A wife dies from misery from her husband and at her wake keeping; the husband is in the next room sleeping with his mistress.  Life is one. There is a thin line between life and death.  You are alive and a minute you are gone.

There are some that will frustrate you, put limitations on you, just because they envy you. The choice is yours to allow them to get to you. You have a choice of how to live your life. If you want others to determine your mood, it’s your choice, but remember  that their life will continue whether yours end or not.

Life is short, why not enjoy the moments. You are unique, there is no one in the whole world who can do a better job of being you than yourself. Whatever time you in now is once in a lifetime. Enjoy the pleasures and the opportunities that each day brings. Why wait for someone to approve this or that for you.  Why leave your life for someone else to run.

Be yourself, be bold and live your life to the fullest. If it’s a red dress you want to wear why not, you want to have your hair dyed, why not. As long as you are not breaking any rules and doing what is right in the sight of our creator.

I have seen many people die in their prime years without enjoying the things they labour so much for. Why do I have to worry so much about what others think of me?  Let’s make an effort to be ourselves.  Remember a time will come you will say I wish I did this or that when I was younger. You will wish for now in the future.  Enjoy your youth and make the most of the opportunities that comes with it.

Stop living for others and take a moment to ask yourself what you really want. Rock that new hairstyle with confidence, get that makeover, have your wardrobe change, if that what you want after all you only live once.
